An investment of approximately €300 million over the next five years will strengthen Baker Hughes’ industrial presence in Italy. The energy technology multinational presented a program aimed at boosting its existing facilities across the country, with a particular focus on the Tuscan plants in Florence, Massa and Avenza, where the production capacity for NovaLt turbines will be expanded. The initiative is also set to create around 300 new jobs in Italy.
The group currently employs more than 6,600 people across eight locations in Italy. Besides Tuscany, operations include Talamona (Sondrio), Casavatore (Naples), Bari and Vibo Valentia, all belonging to the Industrial & Energy Technology division, while the Cepagatti (Pescara) site is part of the Ofse division. The goal is to accelerate the development of technologies designed to address new challenges in the energy sector, providing solutions that are safe, accessible and sustainable.
Lorenzo Simonelli, President and CEO, stated that with this investment plan they are reinforcing their commitment to providing technologies that support the global energy transition, while also ensuring long-term accessibility and reliability.
Echoing this vision, Alessandro Bresciani, Senior Vice President for Energy Equipment, stressed that the initiative will not only increase productive capacity and create qualified jobs but will also reaffirm the strategic role of the Italian facilities in developing advanced technological solutions.
With this move, Baker Hughes solidifies Italy’s role as a strategic industrial center for its international projects, helping to meet the growing global demand for sustainable energy.
