Tuscany is emerging as a national benchmark for gender equality in the workplace. More than 700 companies across the region have now obtained official certification, demonstrating a concrete commitment to bridging the gap between men and women in terms of career advancement, salary equity, work-life balance, and parental support.

The certification, based on national guidelines and accredited evaluation, is more than just a recognition—it’s the starting point of a broader cultural transformation. Companies that embark on this path are required to show progress year after year through structured assessments, ensuring that inclusion policies evolve and improve over time.

From global fashion brands to small local businesses, a wide range of sectors is represented: manufacturing, digital, banking, hospitality, agrifood, and public administration. This cross-sectoral participation confirms the growing awareness that diversity and inclusion are not only ethical priorities, but also drivers of innovation and sustainability.

The majority of certified companies are located in Florence, Pisa, and Lucca, but the trend is spreading steadily across the entire region. Support from national recovery funds (PNRR) and dedicated incentives has helped to accelerate the uptake of gender equality standards, making certification a strategic asset also in public tenders and ESG reporting.

With this growing movement, Tuscany is building a more inclusive and competitive economic landscape—one where equal opportunities are not the exception, but the rule.
