A new Baker Hughes industrial complex is set to be built in Tuscany, specifically in Crespina Lorenzana, in the province of Pisa, where a “logistics hub” will be established. The signing of the memorandum of understanding with the Region took place on Monday, January 29, during the twenty-fourth edition of the Baker Hughes Annual Meeting at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The construction of the new site will be carried out by Techbau, on behalf of the G4 Consortium, which will provide logistical services to Baker Hughes in the coming years.

The protocol, as President Giani states, will guide the creation of a competitive hub that will interact with other logistical platforms in the area, such as the Tuscan Amerigo Vespucci Interport and the future Europa platform in the port of Livorno. The Region has also requested the inclusion of a social clause in the tender to ensure employment continuity and the activation of further local downstream activities.

The logistics hub will be used to collect materials from Baker Hughes’ Italian and foreign plants, as well as from its suppliers worldwide, in addition to shipments to the company’s global customers.
