The British group has announced its intention to acquire CF&P, around 100 employees and over 80 million in revenues, awhich produces Burberry-branded leather bags and accessories. For British Group CEO Marco Gobetti, this is “a milestone” in Burberry’s growth strategy: “It will give us greater control over the quality, cost, delivery and sustainability of our leather goods,” he explains.

CF&P, which is based in Scandicci just outside Florence, focuses on developing propotypes and works with other brands. A small part of its business will remain independent following the deal with Burberry.
