As reported by the Italian Foreign Ministry “Recover investment flows by promoting, supporting and encouraging the flow of capital through direct personal contacts between Italy and foreign investors. This is the aim of “Invest in Italy”, the first investment attracting Desk launched in Dubai during a roadshow held at the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, and of the Italian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Liborio Stellino. The Roadshow, after travelling to Istanbul and Tokyo in 2015 and New York, San Francisco and London in 2016, was opened by the Italian Ambassador and continued with contributions by Mr Scalfarotto, who spoke of the Italian political scene and the reforms passed to favour foreign investment, and by the Director General of the ICE Agency, Piergiorgio Borgogelli, who commented on the most important macro-economic data and the Agency’s activities to favour the inflow of investments. Special focus was placed on the four sectors that are recording the best performance and the highest returns on foreign investments: fashion, the ago industry, real estate and start-ups. Ample attention was also dedicated to taxes, giving information on some of the major novelties in favour of foreign direct investment envisaged in the Budget Bill. The event was attended by more than 100 investors, businessmen and financial brokers based in the UAE. The next stop of the “Invest in Italy” Roadshow is scheduled to take place at the beginning of 2017 in Singapore, Beijing and Hong Kong.
