To make Italy more attractive to investors, and to help Italian companies find new markets overseas, the nation's official corporate registry — the databank that collects information on all companies belonging to chambers of commerce — will “speak” English as well as Italian from now on.

Starting a few days ago, company registration reports and company registration certificates began including an English-language version alongside the Italian one: anyone needing official documents can ask for them through the registry office either via Internet (www.registroimprese.it), mobile systems, or at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce.

The English version of the registry certificate is aimed at providing increased access to information to foreign companies who want to better understand the legal structure and primary economic data of an Italian company.

The document contains a “short profile” with legal status, taxpayer ID, VAT registration number, address, email, telephone number, website address, owner's name and the year the business started….
