On April 8th and 9th, 2024, the city of Trieste will become the beating heart of foreign investment attraction in Italy, hosting the second edition of Selecting Italy. This unique event is organized by the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces in conjunction with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Trieste Convention Center is gearing up to foster an open and constructive dialogue between government officials, local authorities, and business representatives, all united by the common goal of enhancing regional value chains and promoting Italy as a prime destination for international investments.

The event’s agenda promises two days filled with work, discussions, and idea exchange, with a special focus on the opportunities offered by the Tuscany Region, which, along with Friuli Venezia Giulia, will play a leading role on the first day. On April 8th, indeed, two highly significant Round Tables will be coordinated, both aimed at charting new paths for investment in key sectors of the regional and national economy.

The first Round Table, titled “Investments in Good Health,” will focus on the life sciences value chain, exploring emerging opportunities between research, technology transfer, and the market. This sector represents one of Tuscany’s excellences, where scientific innovation meets entrepreneurial tradition to create cutting-edge health solutions. The debate will be coordinated by Leonardo Marras, Councilor of the Tuscany Region, and Riccardo Riccardi, Councilor of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, with a keynote speech by Rino Rappuoli, Scientific Director of the Siena Biotech Foundation, who will share his visions for the future of the sector.

The second meeting, “Economy and territory: climate-energetic sustainability and its impact on foreign investments in Italy,” will open a window on the themes of sustainability and energy, aspects increasingly determining global investment decisions. Coordinated by Sergio Emidio Bini and Leonardo Marras, participants will discuss how Italy, and Tuscany in particular, can attract investments thanks to a growing commitment to environmental sustainability and energy innovation. Laurent Sansoucy of OCO Global will enrich the debate with his international expertise.

Selecting Italy 2024 thus represents an unmissable opportunity for all those interested in understanding and exploiting investment dynamics in Italy, with a special focus on the initiatives and projects taking shape in Tuscany. The event aims to build bridges between different economic sectors and geographical areas, promoting an open dialogue on how Italy, through its regions, can become fertile ground for sustainable and innovative investments.
