FLORENCE, 3rd AUGUST - Livorno is set to expand its relationship with Montevideo (Uruguay).

Victor Rossi, Uruguay's Transport Minister, and Alessandro Bianchi, his Italian counterpart, have signed a protocol of understanding on issues related to logistics and maritime transport involving the ports of Livorno and Montevideo, Uruguay's capital.
Livorno is set to expand its relationships with the Uruguayan capital with regard to logistics and transport (including road, rail, air, sea and inland transport).
The protocol also provides for the joint application of new technologies, new materials and know-how to ensure the safety, policies, legislations, rules and management of the various modes of transportation. The agreement includes other aspects related to cooperation on ports' management policies, planning, design, construction and management of logistical platforms, as well as on logistical techniques used by the ports of the two cities.
