Edison Pulse, the contest created by Edison, has awarded 4 energy start-ups among the 296 participants from all over Italy. Among the 4 winners, there is the Tuscan NUVAP, based at the Navacchio Technology Park, who designs and distributes a device for monitoring indoor pollution such as in houses and offices. Through an algorithm, the device indicates the type of pollution present and the risks posed to health, and indicates possible solutions.

The winners will receive funding of Euro 50,000 each, a one-month support and incubation programme in a business accelerator in Milan and a communication campaign. Furthermore, after the incubation period, they will have the chance to forge a partnership with Edison for the joint development of the proposed product or service.

It is also a concrete application of Open Innovation – a way for companies to seek out ideas, insights, products, and external innovative solutions among start-ups, innovators, universities, researchers, and suppliers.
